Plan Ahead For Your 2013 Summer Book Marketing

Posted by admin

While many look forward to summer as an opportunity to don their bathing suits and live in the garden, hundreds of thousands of authors prepare for the busiest book selling season of the year.

Book sales rise by up to 300% during the Summer, meaning this is a time of year you can’t afford not to plan for.

Most media outlets increase their coverage of books in July and August, with some even creating dedicated ‘Summer Pick’ issues or adding weekly book reviews to their newspaper/website/TV output.

With the media always planning a few months in advance, you’ll want to send your press release now if you want to eat your piece of the summer book pie. When June rolls around, it will be too late as outlets would have secured their July/August coverage and content.

Just a heads up. It’s a great time of year to increase your sales and gain more exposure; just don’t leave it too late.
